Concept:

This year's event will still follow a general Rogaine concept but be slightly different to last year's, with tasks somewhat grouped in sets but still scored over a set time frame. Crews will need to utilise Ground Support supplied transport to move between task groups.

Location:

The challenge will be held at Castle Hill Village, North Canterbury (on the way to Arthurs Pass) over the three days 15-16-17 October 2009 with a maximum of 16 crews participating per day. Location Map

Accommodation:

Due to length of the day's challenge, crews and IMT participants that have long distances to travel are encouraged to spend the night/s at Castle Hill Village, bunk rooms will be available and there are camping sites at the location (refer registration form).

Catering:

Lunches will be supplied for the day of participation with breakfast and dinner available if required on either side of a participation day (refer registration form).

Vehicle Fuel:

For those traveling from afar, the last fuel stops if you are coming from the West Coast will be Arthur's Pass (Challenge closing 6pm), if you are coming from the East, Springfield (Challenge closing 7pm). There is a Mobile fuel card station at Sheffield a bit before Springfield.

The ICP will also have available diesel fuel that can be metered to vehicles and charged back to the relevant Rural Fire Authority.

Register Here:

Crew registration: for all those participating in a crew.

Incident Management Team (IMT): for all those taking positions within Planning Intelligence and Logistics units

Management, Mentors, Markers, VIPS and Observers: In most cases these people will have been appointed and directed to this form to formally register. Positions include those mentoring, event management, IMT managers including Incident controller support roles (overhead team), task markers, VIPs and those wishing to come and check things out.
