Friday 12th

  • 1st Place DOC Waimakariri 1: 517.5 Points
  • 2nd Place DOC Waimakariri 3: 490 Points
  • 3rd Place CCC 4: 450 Points

Saturday 13th

  • 1st Place DOC High Country Fire Team A: 429 Points
  • 2nd Place SCRFD Peel Forest: 452.52 Points
  • 3rd Place DOC High Country Fire Team B: 389.5 Points

Chairman's Note

As Chairman of the Canterbury West Coast Regional Rural Fire Committee I would like to congratulate all those involved in our recent exercise at Mt Thomas.

Although Thursday 11 October 2007 was cancelled due to wet weather the remainder of the programme went without a hitch.

This year saw the Committee develop a new concept that made it both interesting and challenging for those teams who participated.

It was encouraging that the feedback was predominately positive with only a couple of complaints about sore feet.

Congratulations to those teams who gained a placing and to those who excelled outside their comfort zones.

Well done to the Incident Management Team who managed a different aspect of fire, however managed it well and adapted to the change in focus.

Finally a big thank you to the tireless efforts of the Sub-Committee for your efforts over the past twelve months arranging this event.

Look forward to seeing you all at next year’s event that I believe will be run on similar lines.

Principal Rural Fire Officer's Note

The Canterbury West Coast Regional Rural Fire Committee wishes to express its grateful appreciation to the 14 companies who provided sponsorship to the committee for its October Regional Fire exercise.
